Room Service

When attendees of a neurointerventional surgery conference checked into their Seattle hotel, they received an unexpected wake-up call. Emily had slipped leaflets under room doors exposing cruel experiments at speaker Matt Gounis’ University of Massachusetts dog laboratory. Urge Gounis and the school to stop tormenting animals.
Ratitude Adjustment

Rats are bright, empathetic individuals – but they’re often killed in agonizing ways in laboratories or by people who consider them “pests.” Ari proudly sports a rat tattoo with a message that sparks conversations about kindness to all species.
Demand and Supply

Lisa pops into burger bars, pizza joints, and sushi places to ask, “Do you have vegan options?” Every “yes” earns an “Awesome, we’ll be back!” “No” answers merit asking the manager, “Will you be adding vegan menu items? We’d love to eat here if so!” She also thanks restaurants for their cruelty-free selections – while leaving a good tip and online reviews.
Hit ’Em in the Pocket

Shoppers who try on animal-skin clothing at Sharon’s local mall get a surprise. She tucks relevant leaflets into all the pockets.
Holding Big Dairy Acowntable

No kind person wants their car to be an animal agriculture billboard. But drivers in Wisconsin had to use state-issued license plates advertising “America’s Dairyland” – until a group of animal allies created a clever sticker with a more honest message. Custom stickers are an easy way to speak out against animal abuse wherever you go.
Snowball Effect

Kind actions don’t have to be put on ice for the winter. Tricia thanked local snowplow drivers with dairy-free hot chocolate and vegan starter kits (request a stash), and Lauren added a thoughtful message to a snow-covered bench.
Good Buys for Good Boys

Lia’s first “Help a Mutt” tag sale raised $7,000 for PETA’s Community Animal Project, supplying doghouses, food, medicine, and other necessities to neglected chained dogs. It was such a success that this year’s sale brought in donations and shoppers from throughout the community – and even attracted local news coverage.
Make It Humerus

Skeletons may be spooky, but Carla and Bryan used their Halloween display to highlight something truly frightening: the use of animals for food and entertainment.
The Gift of Knowledge

When Corey’s coworker mentioned buying her sister a puppy for Christmas, he gently explained that the hectic holiday season can be frightening for animals and that breeding is never “responsible” while shelters are full of wonderful companions waiting for homes. She agreed to create a voucher for her sister to adopt an animal instead – after the holiday madness winds down.
Reality Check

Alonzo wanted people to understand that turkeys are unique individuals, not entrées. So he sponsored a PETA billboard saying just that! Find out how to showcase your favorite message.
Making the Grade

The winners of PETA Kids’ All-Star for Animals annual contest prove that turning compassion into action is elementary. This year’s winner, nine-year-old Hayley, is always looking for ways to help animals, whether she’s visiting animal sanctuaries, attending protests, handing out leaflets, or encouraging others to make kind choices.
