300,000 Dogs and Cats Have Had a PETA ‘Fix’!
And that means millions, yes millions, of animals not born into homelessness
Corbu – fixed in several ways! Corbu was found paralyzed and trapped in a ditch in Romania. PETA Germany staff brought him to safety and gave Corbu all he needed to make a remarkable recovery. Today, he is neutered, adopted, happy, and loved. PETA Germany and their partner, Eduxanima, have been tackling animal homelessness in Romania for six years. They have sterilized more than 17,000 animals, performed other vital surgeries, and provided lifesaving veterinary care.
Providing Vital Services in the Poorest Parts of the Philippines
Yuri was once a skeletal stray battling starvation and Ehrlichia – a blood parasite spread by ticks. But thanks to PETA Asia’s intervention, he is now neutered, vaccinated, parasite-free, many pounds healthier, and thriving with his adoptive family.

Yuri is just one of the many animals PETA Asia’s team, headed by staffer Ashley Fruno, has sterilized in the Philippines. All animals are also provided with free treatment for everything from mange to respiratory illness to parasite infections.

In the U.S., Too, PETA Helps Struggling Guardians Help Their Animals
Since 2001, PETA’s Mobile Clinics Division has sterilized almost a quarter of a million dogs and cats in backwater areas of Virginia and North Carolina, including Sapphire Blue, who was suffering from a potentially fatal uterine infection. PETA veterinarians removed her 8-pound, infected uterus, and after several days of affection and rest, she was home again with her grateful family.

Through our low- to no-cost program, PETA has prevented unimaginable numbers of births. Some of the communities we serve have no veterinarian or other options, so PETA travels directly to them or provides free transportation to our clinics.

Adios, Animal Overpopulation; Hola, Spay-a-Thons
Since 2021, PETA has sterilized nearly 6,000 animals free of charge in Chichimilá and the outskirts of Cancún, Mexico, at clinics funded by PETA’s Global Compassion Fund. The care didn’t stop there: Our staff also went into neighborhoods with no running water or sanitation to find animals and treat their infections, provide parasite prevention, clip overgrown nails, shave mats, and counsel guardians on proper animal care. We thank Home Depot for donating doghouses to provide protection from heat and torrential rains.
PETA has “fixed” hundreds of animals in Puerto Rico, too, and provided veterinary care to dogs and cats suffering from mange, ear mites, and other ailments.

A Sweet Indian Village Dog, Sterilized and Cyst-Free
A soccer ball-sized cyst didn’t stop this village dog in India, who ran from rescuers until PETA-supported Animal Rahat stepped in. The team whisked her away for emergency surgery, draining a staggering five liters of fluid from the growth that was impairing her breathing. Once spayed, vaccinated, and healed, she was returned to her grateful caretaker.

PETA India and Animal Rahat have sterilized cats and dogs in Delhi, Mumbai, and more, while providing crucial veterinary care and vaccinations to animals who would never have ever seen a veterinarian. In 10 years, Animal Rahat has achieved a 100% sterilization rate in 45 villages.
