Turkey Approved: Lucky Break Wishbones

Published by Ashley Palmer.

Imagine for a moment that on every holiday, we ate that holiday’s mascot. Would you feed your child a bunny on Easter? Or perhaps have a slice of baby Jesus on Christmas morning? Of course not!

But each Thanksgiving, millions of Americans sit down to a table adorned with a dead bird as a centerpiece. Approximately 45 million turkeys will be killed for the holiday this year. Let’s leave the turkey off the table, and enjoy a cruelty-free meal instead.

One tradition I remember as a child was breaking the wishbone with my grandfather—he would always save it for me. This was before I was vegan and knew of the suffering that occurred on factory farms. After I went vegan, I thought breaking the wishbone was one tradition that would be gone forever.

In comes Lucky Break Wishbones, a fun and animal-friendly alternative to breaking turkey bones. And we’re giving away packs of 10 wishbones so that everyone in your family will get to make a wish!
