The vegan Ben & Jerry’s line is gearing up to grow! After already rocking the world with the introduction of three new nondairy flavors earlier this year (bringing its total to seven vegan varieties), the ice cream company has announced an exciting new promotion: Dairy-free connoisseurs can enter submissions to create and name the company’s next vegan flavor.
And that’s just the tip of the ice(cream)berg. On its blog, Ben & Jerry’s shared a great list of tips for all the omnivores and vegetarians out there who are contemplating going vegan. So if for you—as for so many others—the delicious nondairy Ben & Jerry’s flavors have been a “gateway drug” to the ever-growing list of vegan options available at grocery stores across the country, check out the company’s post to discover some great tips for curious new vegans.
Looking for more help with going vegan? You’ve come to the right place.
Anything you can eat, you can eat vegan.
If you can dream it, chances are it can be made vegan. From sushi and caviar to burgers that bleed, all the foods that you already love can be (and already are being) made sans cruelty to animals and with just a fraction of the impact on the environment.
So the next time that you find yourself saying, “I’d go vegan, but I could never give up ____,” take a good look in the mirror—or at least a good look at Google. You can go vegan without giving up anything that you love, and you’ll probably discover tons of new things that you can’t stop eating once you do. All you’ll be leaving behind is cholesterol and the guilt that comes along with the terrible ways that animals are treated for food production. So what are you waiting for? Give the new vegan Ben & Jerry’s a try, then be sure to check out the hundreds of plant-based recipes that we’ve prepared for you right here on PETA.org.
