Yellowstone Bear World workers tore infant bear cubs away from their mothers and shuttled them through bottle-feeding encounters with about a dozen strangers every day. See what PETA’s investigator uncovered.
PETA entities have conducted more undercover investigations than any other animal rights group. They undertake investigations to expose animal abuse in laboratories, on farms and in slaughterhouses, in the clothing industry, in the pet trade, and elsewhere.
Their efforts have led to significant victories, including the closure of abusive laboratories and farms as well as the seizure and rescue of suffering animals.
PETA has been launching investigations since 1981, beginning with the exposure of the suffering of the Silver Spring monkeys in a Maryland experimentation facility. This investigation resulted in the first-ever police raid on a laboratory, the first confiscation of abused animals from a laboratory, and the first U.S. Supreme Court victory for animals used in experiments.

“Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to circuses and zoos. We never considered the impact of these actions on the animals involved. For whatever reason, you are now asking the question: Why should animals have rights?”
— Ingrid E. Newkirk, PETA President and co-author of Animalkind
