Ron Jeremy Says, ‘Too Much Sex Is a Bad Thing’

Ron Jeremy, one of the most “penetrating” stars in the adult movie industry, with more than 1,900 movies under his belt, knows a thing or two about sex!In a business in which talent can be measured in inches, Ron has been keeping up with the Johnsons since the ’70s to become one of the biggest stars in adult films.

Jeremy proved that he’s a big man when it comes to small animals by taking a break from his daily grind to pose for a PETA ad promoting spaying and neutering. In the tongue-in-cheek ad, Ron lies naked on a bed alongside the tagline, “Too much sex can be a bad thing. Help end overpopulation—spay and neuter your dogs and cats.”

Why are Jeremy and PETA so fixated on getting animals “fixed”? One unspayed female cat and her offspring can produce 36 cats in just one and a half years, and an unneutered male can sire dozens of litters of kittens.

Every year, millions of unwanted dogs and cats are dumped at crowded animal shelters, where most are put to death. The less fortunate ones will be turned out to fend for themselves in all weather extremes; lose battles with traffic, disease, and hunger; and perhaps even be stolen by laboratory dealers or used as bait by dogfighters. Simple surgery (spaying for females, neutering for males) is the solution.

“It bothers me that shelters have to go through this,” says Jeremy. “The only cure for this overpopulation and for having to kill animals on a daily basis is to get them spayed or neutered.”
