Gavin Rossdale is hitting a new high note—for homeless dogs and cats! The Bush frontman returned to the East Valley Animal Shelter in California—where he adopted his beloved dog, Kaya—to play with, snuggle, and read to the shelter’s adoptable dogs and cats. He also unveiled his special campaign with PETA, which reminds fans that while life changes, love remains the same for companion dogs and cats in need of homes.
In PETA’s new video, Rossdale encourages everyone to give other animals the same “encore” he gave his beloved dog, Kaya, who went from the city animal shelter to living a life where everything’s zen on tour with Bush. The rock legend debunks common myths about shelter animals and shares how Kaya has brought so much joy into his life. Check out the adorable PSA here:
