In an interview with Teen Vogue, actor and heartthrob Zac Efron announced that he’s been “experimenting with eating purely vegan”—sending quick shockwaves across the internet. According to Efron, since making the switch, he’s noticed immediate, positive changes in the way he feels, calling his new lifestyle “brilliant.”
“[It’s] completely changed the way that my body works, and the way that I metabolize food, the way it turns into energy, the way that I sleep. … It’s been great for my exercise, and great for my routine.”

Efron is one of many celebrities who have publicly announced a switch to a vegan diet in 2018. Recently, Beyoncé made headlines when she invited her 112 million Instagram followers to join her on a vegan journey. Earlier in the year, other celebrities, including This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown and musician will.i.am, announced that they’d ditched meat, eggs, and dairy “products.”
