Each year, thousands of bulls are slaughtered in bullrings around the world. From the moment they enter the ring, the bulls don’t stand a chance, and sometimes, neither do the people who enter it with them. The bulls are often weakened by beatings, have their horns shaved to keep them off balance, or have petroleum jelly rubbed into their eyes to impair their vision.

Many animal rights activists, including comedian Ricky Gervais, have spoken out against bullfighting and the danger it poses to animals and humans.

Just as a bullring is no place for people, it’s also no place for animals! Please, never attend bullfights, bull rides, or other events where these dignified animals are terrorized and abused. Let your friends know that bullfighting is a barbaric practice that should be ended immediately.
