Career Cat Hopes to Hang Up Hard Hat and Work From Home—Maybe Yours?

Peque the cat may only be about 3 years old, but she already has an impressive résumé. Abandoned as a kitten at a metal recycling plant, she immediately set to work assisting the kind Spanish-speaking employees who started feeding her—and who dubbed her Peque (“little one” in Spanish) for her then-diminutive stature. She enthusiastically took on the position of plant greeter, lunch inspector, and all-around cheerleader. But the workers knew what she really needed was a safe, indoor home, so when they could no longer care for her, they called PETA to help find her a permanent family.

With years of public-facing work under her belt, Peque has impeccable soft skills—not to mention her soft, charcoal-colored fur. Always chipper, she looks forward to receiving visitors in her new home and showing them all the best spots to nap as well as which vantage points are ideal for supervising birds and squirrels out the windows.

Peque’s communication skills are also topnotch. A single meow let workers in far corners of the recycling plant know that it was time to fetch her dinner, and she looks forward to communicating with all manner of clients—er, companions—in her future home.

Did someone say “teamwork”? The sweet and affectionate Peque gets along with everyone she meets and would be happy to collaborate to help you achieve all your goals. Got a deadline? She’ll make sure you get your day started early by reminding you to get out of bed to feed her breakfast. Drowning in paperwork? She’ll gladly help with bookkeeping by sitting right on top of those pesky forms—out of sight, out of mind. (Although to be honest, she’d prefer the paper be crumpled into balls for her to chase.)

Peque is flexible (she’s happy to work anywhere on the East Coast), adorable, and open to learning new things, like how toys work and where all the best treats are kept. Ready to take on Peque as a member of your team? Write to [email protected] to learn more.
