Urge Resorts to End Cruel ‘Swim With Dolphins’ Encounters
Dolphins used for “swim with dolphins” experiences are violently torn away from their families or bred in captivity and have never experienced the joy of swimming in the open ocean. Yet three resorts in Florida and Hawaii have partnered with the abusive companies Dolphin Connection and Dolphin Quest to offer these experiences at their properties.
It is unforgivable to imprison dolphins in small lagoons where they cannot swim freely or even escape attacks from other frustrated animals. To make them perform tricks to entertain humans is even more degrading and cruel, so much so that in July 2025, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum signed and published the law that will ban dolphinariums in all of Mexico.
These highly intelligent animals do not deserve to be forced to interact with tourists and give piggyback rides around the small enclosures they’re confined to. Please help us end this injustice.
Tell Hawks Cay Resort, The Kahala Hotel & Resort, and Hilton Waikoloa Village to end their cruel “swim with dolphins” encounters and not to permit the breeding or acquisition of more animals on their premises by taking the actions below.

2. Write a polite email to the hotel and resort managers, urging them to reconsider their support of the exploitation of dolphins. Let them know that their resort can offer relaxation and lifetime memories for their guests without the cruelty to animals.
