“Urge Domino’s to Add Vegan Cheese!” Talking Points

  • Customers are hungry for change! The vegan market is expected to grow to nearly nine billion dollars by 2031. And Domino’s offers vegan cheese in other countries. So why not here in the U.S.?
  • Cows must be forcibly impregnated in order to make milk, and their babies are torn from them shortly after birth. Mother cows will wail for their calves for days and travel for miles looking for them.
  • Male calves are unwanted by the dairy industry and sold as babies for veal. Females also end up in slaughterhouses after their reproductive systems can no longer profit the industry.
  • Domino’s Competitors—including Mellow Mushroom, Papa Murphy’s, & Pizza, Blaze Pizza, Brixx Pizza, Pieology, PizzaRev, UNO, zpizza, and more—already offer vegan cheese in the U.S.
  • Domino’s caters primarily to a young demographic, and they are increasingly choosing to avoid cow’s milk and cheese. It would benefit Domino’s to not miss out on this huge consumer base.
  • Everyone loves a pizza party! But party planners with just one vegan or lactose-intolerant guest to account for will have no choice but to skip Domino’s and opt for a more accommodating pizza parlor that caters to all invitees. If Domino’s wants to be the party choice of the people, vegan cheese must be on the menu!
  • People want dairy-free cheese on the menu for all sorts of reasons. Some are concerned about their health. Others are concerned about the environment or the abuse of animals on factory farms. Many are lactose intolerant, an issue that disproportionately impacts people of color. By offering vegan cheese, Domino’s would tap into a new market and bring in new customers.
