Urgent Action Needed to Pass the FDA Modernization Act 3.0

Last year, the groundbreaking FDA Modernization Act 2.0 was enacted, giving the FDA the authority to approve new medications without tests on animals. But now the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) is dragging its feet and must be compelled to implement these lifesaving tests.

The FDA Modernization Act 3.0 will do that. It just passed the Senate and now we need the House to act—and it has to happen this week! Please call your U.S. representative TODAY and urge them to pass S. 5046! You’ll see suggested talking points at the bottom of this page.

I’m a constituent calling to urge Representative [your representative’s name here] to support the bipartisan FDA Modernization Act 3.0 (S. 5046) to compel the FDA to update its regulations to include non-animal-testing methods in drug development.
Despite the passage of a previous FDA Modernization Act in 2022 that allows for non-animal testing methods, the agency has yet to update its archaic regulations that require testing on animals.
The FDA’s continued reliance on inferior animal models is bad science and harms patients desperate for treatments and cures.
