PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction on cruelty charges of the person(s) responsible for tying an emaciated dog to a bridge in LeTort Park and abandoning her there.

Police stated that they found the dog after receiving reports of barking at 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, April 25. The dog is a gray pit bull with a white underbelly and is approximately a year old. She was wearing a silver harness and a black collar with no tag, and she was so thin that ribs were visible. She is now in the care of a local animal rescue group, which has named her Rosa.

A police investigation has not yet turned up any leads, and PETA is hoping for help from the public in case any other animals are in danger of being harmed by Rosa’s abuser. Would you please share this information with your audience? It may mean a break in the case.

“This suffering dog needed urgent care, but instead, someone tied her to a bridge and left her there to bark frantically for help,” says PETA Vice President Colleen O’Brien. “PETA urges anyone with information about this dog to come forward immediately so that whoever utterly betrayed her trust can be held accountable.”

Anyone with tips should contact the Carlisle Police Department at 717-243-5252 or online.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
