PETA Statement: Lawmaker’s Bill Will Ultimately Fail as Society Evolves

On Monday, Missouri’s House of Representatives will hear a bill introduced by Rep. John Black, seeking to enshrine a right to hunt and fish in the state constitution. Black has said that PETA’s work is one reason—perhaps the main reason—he has done this. Please see the following statement from PETA President Ingrid Newkirk:

This chest-beating exercise from Rep. John Black is neither here nor there when PETA knows that society will eventually completely turn its back on those who take enjoyment from tormenting and killing animals and will condemn those who cling to such atrocities.
