PETA Offers Reward of Up to $5,000 for Help in Dog-Drowning Case

PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction on cruelty-to-animals charges of the person(s) who authorities believed drowned a dog in Raystown Lake by tying a rope attached to a rock around the animal’s neck.
The dog’s bloated body was found floating by the shore near Tatman Run Boat Launch on October 11. Investigators say that the animal was a female weighing around 100 pounds with white fur and no distinct markings, possibly a pit bull mix.
“If this dog was alive when tied to a rock and dumped into the lake, imagine the terror and panic she must have felt, unable to free herself or take a breath,” says PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange. “PETA is begging anyone with information to come forward so that justice can be done for this animal who suffered terribly.”
