Victory: Man Who Kicked Baby Deer Gets Jail Time!

You may recall the sickening video showing an Illinois man violently and repeatedly kicking a downed baby deer in the head as the animal lay helpless in the street. The Perry County state attorney charged Jordan Anheuser with felony animal torture and misdemeanor cruelty-to-animals. Recently, Anheuser pleaded guilty to the felony charge and was sentenced to 6 months in jail and 30 months of probation and was ordered to pay fines and restitution.

PETA recently broke the news of a disturbing video showing a young man repeatedly kicking a disabled baby deer. Now, according to news sources, the state’s attorney has charged a Pinckneyville, Illinois, man with felony animal torture and misdemeanor cruelty to animals. PETA will continue to monitor this case.

PETA has been alerted to a shocking video, which was apparently posted to Snapchat, depicting a male abuser repeatedly and forcefully kicking a young downed deer in the head as the animal flails in distress. The abuser can be heard saying, “I just hit this [expletive]” and “Boom, you’re [expletive] up!” as onlookers laugh and cheer him on. PETA reported the video to law-enforcement officials in Perry County, Illinois, where the incident allegedly occurred. Officials with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources have passed the results of their investigation on to the Perry County state’s attorney, at whose discretion charges can be filed.
