PETA Pleased: 100+ Animals Safe for Now From Wilson’s Wild Animal Park

Below, please find a statement from PETA Foundation Director of Captive Animal Law Enforcement Brittany Peet in response to last night’s ruling that the animals who were seized from Wilson’s Wild Animal Park by the Virginia Attorney General’s Office during the execution of a search warrant earlier this month will not be returned to the roadside zoo:

PETA’s captive wildlife department is celebrating last night’s ruling against Wilson’s Wild Animal Park, which means that more than 100 animals—from lions to lambs—are now safe from this abusive roadside zoo and finally on the road to recovery. The roadside zoo has sorely neglected animals for years, and many animals who suffered there now have a new lease on life that we hope will be permanent.

PETA’s motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to use for entertainment,” and the group opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org.
