PETA Statement: Dog Dies on United Airlines Flight After Being Put in Overhead Bin

For Immediate Release:
March 13, 2018

Norfolk, Va.

If reports are true that a United Airlines flight attendant insisted that this dog’s guardian put him in the overhead bin, then he or she should be fired and charged with cruelty to animals for this dog’s horrific, terrifying death. PETA reminds everyone that it is up to each of us to keep our companion animals safe, and we should never allow someone to put them in harm’s way, including by confining them to a small space with no air flow—no trip is that important.
