Why There Aren’t Nightclubs for Birds
Most birds love a sweet little tune. But they aren’t so fond of disco music blaring right next to their cages all night. At the Costa Adeje Gran Hotel in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain, a group of small caged birds is being used as a decorative prop in the foyer. Every evening, the foyer turns into a nightclub, and the birds are bombarded with deafeningly loud music for several hours.
It’s easy to see how the loud noise would leave the birds sleepless and upset. PETA has written to the hotel asking that management move the birds, but so far, the hotel has refused and has even threatened PETA with legal acton if we keep asking them to do the right thing for the birds! Please take a moment to send a polite e-mail to the hotel manager asking for the birds to be moved to a quieter location.
