James Perse Los Angeles Confirms End of Angora-Wool Sales
After hearing from PETA, high-end retailer James Perse Los Angeles has joined the ranks of over 220 top brands—including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Ann Inc., H&M, and Inditex—in banning angora wool from its collections. The decision comes after the company learned about PETA’s groundbreaking exposé of the angora-wool industry, which revealed that live rabbits’ fur is ripped from their skin.
As revealed by PETA in its exposé of angora farms in China, some rabbits are cut or sheared and invariably wounded by the sharp tools as they struggle desperately to escape. In addition, the angora-farming industry condemns these intelligent, social animals to years of isolation in small, filthy wire cages.
