URGENT: Speak Out Against Hog Abuse in Maribel, Wisconsin!

Pigs are highly sensitive animals who are capable of great suffering and deserve to be treated with respect—just like our animal companions! PETA was just informed that Kroll’s Corner Pub and Grub in Maribel, Wisconsin, reportedly plans to host so-called “hog wrestling” events this Saturday, August 1. Young pigs with no means of escape or defense will likely be chased in mud, grabbed at, tackled, and then slammed onto overturned barrel drums amid screaming crowds. Being subjected to the noise, violence, and chaos inherent in such an activity is both terrifying and dangerous to the animals, who can sustain severe injuries, including broken limbs and backs. Hog wrestling also arguably violates Wisconsin’s anti-cruelty law, which prohibits both “[treating] any animal … in a cruel manner” as well as “[fights] between an animal and a person.”

Please join PETA in politely urging the bar management of Kroll’s Corner Pub and Grub to cancel this incredibly inhumane event and replace it with one where no animals are used—then forward this to everyone you know!
