Urge Georgia HOA to Stop Torturing Beavers!

The Deerlake Homeowner’s Association board in Alpharetta, GA has reportedly hired a contractor to fatally target the local beaver population. But removing beavers by any method backfires, as remaining animals then breed at accelerated rates while inevitable newcomers arrive for the still-available resources.

Further, the medieval devices typically used—Conibear traps—cause immense suffering as terrified victims are slowly crushed or drowned (which for beavers can take more than 15 agonizing minutes). These contraptions are also wholly indiscriminate, posing risks to “non-target” victims, including protected wildlife and even companion animals.

PETA apprised the Deerlake HOA Board of the cruelty and futility of these methods, and provided info regarding nonlethal beaver control that’s effective long term, but to no apparent avail—now it’s your turn! Please POLITELY urge the HOA to stop torturing these wild animals who are simply trying to make their way, and instead focus on humane measures that are tried and true.
