Viral Sibling Band SM6 Say ‘Let Chickens Be Happy—Don’t Eat Them!’ in New peta2 Campaign

Before hitting the road for their nationwide tour in June, TikTok’s favorite family band SM6—six siblings who know a thing or two about flocking together—are cozying up to some other birds of a feather in a new campaign for peta2, part of PETA’s youth division, urging everyone to leave chickens in peace and go vegan.

In an accompanying behind-the-scenes video, band members Emily, George, Eliana, Isabel, Adam, and Jack bond with six rescued birds at an animal sanctuary and gush over chickens’ unique personalities, tight-knit relationships, and extraordinary abilities. “I think it’s cool that they dream,” Adam says, while George marvels that “mother chickens actually teach their young—they talk to their eggs, and when they come out, they recognize their mother’s voice.”

Delving into their “vegan origin story,” the band also shares how a documentary binge-watching session opened their eyes to the suffering endured by chickens and other animals raised and killed for food. In the meat and egg industries, chickens are forced to spend their entire lives in severely crowded, filthy sheds or cramped wire-floored cages from the moment they hatch until the day they’re violently killed. “Once watching those films, we were like, automatically turned off,” Emily says, while Isabel adds that going vegan has been “the best decision.”
