“I’ll have what he’s having!” In an homage to When Harry Met Sally, a new video spot from PETA now running on Tinder and other dating sites features a man who gets a passionate reaction from his date every time he takes a bite out of a juicy veganburger. Inspired by social experiments conducted by PETA Australia and PETA UK, which found that vegan men’s profiles received twice as many swipes as their nearly identical meat-eating counterparts, the spot encourages would-be Romeos to improve their chances at making a match by shaking up what they’re eating.

“Vegans know that ‘no meat’ means more heat, and men seeking love at first swipe can get hearts racing by keeping animals off their plates,” says PETA President Tracy Reiman. “PETA encourages everyone looking for love this Valentine’s Day to have a heart by eating vegan and letting animals live in peace.”
Cows feel love, joy, fear, and pain just like all animals, and mourn when a loved one dies or when they’re separated from each other. But in the meat industry, they’re violently killed in front of other terrified cows at a fraction of their natural life expectancy. Researchers have found that vegans are more empathetic than meat-eaters, and each person who goes vegan saves nearly 200 animals every year from daily suffering and a terrifying death. Vegans pack a punch in the bedroom, too: Low-fat vegan meals have been shown to address the physical causes involved in the vast majority of impotence cases, including high cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, prostate cancer or inflammation, and hormonal imbalances.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat or abuse in any other way” offers a free vegan starter kit for those looking to make the switch. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow PETA on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
