SeaWorld is a Prison—Help the Animals Trapped There
Public opinion continues to shift in favor of orcas and other dolphins who have been waiting years—sometimes decades—to be freed from the small, unnatural tanks where they are imprisoned at SeaWorld parks. The pools these intelligent animals are forced to live in allow them to dip a mere 35 feet below the surface, while their free counterparts dive over three thousand feet below the sea’s surface.

Many people are refusing to buy a ticket to watch confined, frustrated animals perform pointless tricks, but SeaWorld is still trying to ignore the public’s cries to release the orcas to seaside sanctuaries—a viable and humane alternative to their tiny tanks.
You can help empty the tanks of this abusement park by taking the actions below.
1. Contact SeaWorld on social media and politely ask questions about the animals it confines. Use the following examples, or think of your own: Why does SeaWorld refuse to release the animals to seaside sanctuaries? When will you release Corky from her prison? Why are you keeping orcas in tiny tanks where they’re so frustrated they break their teeth chewing on the concrete walls and metal gates?
2. Take action on PETA’s Rapid Action Center page for animals imprisoned at SeaWorld and urge companies to sever all ties with SeaWorld.
3. Do you live near a SeaWorld park in the U.S.? (San Diego, California; Orlando, Florida; and San Antonio, Texas) We’ll help you plan a protest and spread the word so other local activists will join you! Simply contact us at [email protected].

4. Host a Blackfish watch party. The award-winning documentary, which focuses on the consequences of forcing orcas to live in captivity, is available for rent on Amazon Prime (or for free with a 7-day trial). Order some vegan pizza, prepare vegan snacks, and invite friends and family over for a meaningful gathering.
5. Spread the word about the inherent cruelty of marine parks by posting SeaWorld leaflets everywhere you go. Order literature and keep the leaflets with you to leave on bulletin boards, in waiting rooms, among magazine racks, Little Free Libraries, or anywhere else you can think of!
6. Show the world why #SeaWorldSucks! Love, comment on, and share PETA’s Instagram post. Be sure to use the hashtag #SeaWorldSucks. You may even be able to find SeaWorld Sucks stickers and GIFs!
7. Rock a ‘SeaWorld Kills’ or ‘SeaWorld Sucks’ merch! More than 40 orcas, over 500 other dolphins and whales, approximately 400 pinnipeds, and countless others have died at the parks. By wearing our “SeaWorld Kills” or “SeaWorld Sucks” line, you’ll spread the message that SeaWorld is truly a prison for animals.
Thank you for all that you do for animals!
