6 Beauty Trends Taking Over Fall 2025: A Vegan and Cruelty-Free Guide

Published August 21, 2025 by Elena Waldman. Last Updated October 27, 2025.

As the leaves turn and the air crisps, beauty trends are shifting, too. This season, beauty is all about balance: luminous but soft, bold but wearable, nostalgic yet modern. We’ve gathered some of the Fall 2025 beauty trends that will be taking over this season—with all vegan and cruelty-free products.

Satin Skin

Summer’s all about that dewy, just-back-from-the-beach glow—but fall 2025 is shifting toward a more refined radiance. Think satin, not shine: a velvety, luminous finish that feels soft and lived in.

Lightweight cream tints and breathable foundations are leading the way, offering gentle coverage that evens tone without hiding texture. Axiology’s Fungdation—formulated with soothing mushrooms and created by a compassionate PETA Business Friend—delivers breathable coverage with skin-enhancing benefits. E.l.f.’s Soft Glam Satin Foundation also offers a lightweight, matte-ish finish with buildable coverage.

And if you want to prep with a primer to keep your makeup looking fresh all day, 100% Pure’s Luminous Primer is a perfect choice—it’s silky, smooth, and packed with nourishing ingredients like vitamin E and aloe.

Effortless Flush

This fall, cheeks are taking on a softer role. We’re leaving behind the sun-kissed look of summer—complete with heavy bronzer and bold blush—and shifting toward a more understated flush that looks effortless and natural. (Think a pop of color that comes from a crisp walk outside, not hours under the sun.)

The Soft Pinch Matte Bouncy Blush from Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty nails the trend, with shades like Hope (a nude mauve) for a subtle everyday flush and Worth (a true rose-terracotta) to flatter deeper skin tones. For those who embrace a French makeup philosophy—less is more, versatile, and chic—Axiology’s Balmie Stick is the perfect pick: a zero-waste, multi-use crayon that glides effortlessly onto cheeks and lips for that natural flush.

Styled Messy Hair

Fall 2025 hair is all about celebrating what your strands want to do naturally—no flat irons, no over-styling, no fighting the inevitable flyaways. We’re moving into an era of “undone texture”—where natural waves, curls, and coils shine, and frizz is embraced as part of the look rather than something to smooth away.

To achieve this carefree style, try a sea salt spray like Pacifica’s Salty Waves Texture Spray or Rizos Curls’ Beach Waves Texturizing Salt Spray. Add some body to your hair with a texturizing hair spray, like Living Proof’s Full Dry Volume and Texture Spray, or Amika’s Brooklyn Bombshell Blowout + Blow Dry Spray.

Soft Winged Eyeliner

Gen Z calls winged eyeliner the “skinny jeans of makeup”—but if skinny jeans can come back, so can the cat eye. Only this time, it’s softer, less edgy (very demure, very mindful). Forget harsh black lines: this fall, reach for a brown liner stick with a smudge brush tip—like the NYX Epic Smoke Liner in Mocha Match—for subtle definition.

Frosted Finishes

Frosted finishes bring icy, snowy vibes to your look—soft white shadows in the inner corners of the eyes, a touch of luminous highlighter on the cheekbones, or a hint of iridescent shimmer on the lips.

Rare Beauty’s Positive Light Liquid Luminizer in Enlighten and Urban Decay’s 24/7 Moondust Glitter Eyeshadow in Cosmic are perfect for achieving the “moon-kissed” look.

’90s-Inspired Lips

This fall, lips are taking cues straight from the ’90s runway—think Tyra Banks strutting down the catwalk with sharp, defined edges. The look is all about contrast, with a rich, chocolatey brown lip liner framing a neutral-toned lip color. Tower 28’s OneLiner Lip Liner in Draw Me and Shine On Lip Oil Jelly in Almond is the perfect lip combo to get this retro-meets-modern vibe.

Vegancuts curates monthly beauty boxes filled with the season’s must-have vegan and cruelty-free products. October’s Sweater Weather Beauty box is packed with cozy essentials to keep your routine fresh, radiant, and fall-ready.

Compassion Is the Beauty Staple of Every Season

Beauty trends come and go, but kindness is always in style—because every animal is someone who feels. Mice and rabbits are social, sensitive animals who do not want to be used and killed in painful cosmetics tests. Keep your beauty routine cruelty-free with PETA’s Ultimate Cruelty-Free List, which allows you to search a company’s animal testing status.

“Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to circuses and zoos. We never considered the impact of these actions on the animals involved. For whatever reason, you are now asking the question: Why should animals have rights?”

— Ingrid Newkirk, PETA Founder and co-author of Animalkind
