No PETA, No Progress: Celebrating 45 Years of Animal Liberation (VIDEO)
What would the world look like without PETA? For 45 years, we’ve worked tirelessly to end cruel experiments on animals, expose the meat, egg, and dairy industries, stop the abuse and exploitation of animals for “entertainment” and fashion, and much more. Even with dozens of groundbreaking victories for animals under our belt, it’s easy to forget how much has changed—until you imagine a world where none of it had.
In honor of our 45th anniversary, we’re taking a powerful look back at what life would be like without the victories you helped make possible. Watch the video below to see how, thanks to PETA and our supporters, the world today is a kinder one for our fellow animals.
What Would Still Be Happening in a World Without PETA?
The progress we’ve made together over the past 45 years can’t be overstated—and this video makes it clear why. Without PETA, Ringling Bros would still be dragging elephants and tigers across the country in chains and box cars. SeaWorld would still be forcibly breeding orcas in concrete tanks. NASA would still be strapping terrified monkeys into restraint chairs and launching them into space to die. And you’d be hard-pressed to find almond milk at your local coffee shop, let alone a vegan leather car.

These abuses didn’t end on their own—they ended because compassionate supporters like you took action. And PETA was there to lead the charge, every step of the way.
Our mission has always been the same: to spread the idea that every animal is someone—not something—and deserves to live free from exploitation and suffering. So if you’ve ever signed a petition, shared a video, attended a demonstration, or helped someone go vegan by ordering them a free vegan starter kit, you’ve helped PETA change the world—for animals and for good.
