All Yung Gravy knows is “chase this dough and get money”—and to never spend it buying animals from breeders or pet stores! Ahead of performing at Warped Tour in Long Beach, the “Betty” rapperstars in a new PETA campaign alongside his canine companion, Hendrix, urging everyone to adopt—not shop.
In an accompanying video spot, the silky-smooth songwriter leans into his new role as an Audible narrator, soothing Hendrix to sleep with a bedtime story about a lovable dog who nearly loses hope that he’ll be adopted, but who finds a safe and caring home.

The heartwarming story hits home for the duo, as Hendrix was abandoned in a dumpster as a puppy—but went “from the trash to the cash,” as Yung Gravy puts it, when the rapper adopted him.
PETA notes that with millions of homeless dogs and cats in the U.S., animal shelters across the country have been overrun for years—and every time someone buys a puppy or a kitten from a breeder or a pet store, an animal waiting in a shelter loses a chance at finding a good home. That’s why PETA asks everyone to adopt animals—not shop for them—and advises guardians to have their animal companions spayed or neutered.
“Please be a part of the solution,” Yung Gravy says in the video. “When you’re ready to add a dog to your family, always adopt.”
Yung Gravy joins a long list of celebrities—including Leah Kateb, Dylan McDermott, Kathy Griffin, Lisa Ann Walter, Ron Perlman, Tom Hardy, John Stamos, Ryan Eggold, Theo Rossi, and Cristin Milioti—who have teamed up with PETA to promote adoption.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow PETA on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
