Yung Gravy Drops Bars—and Bedtime Stories—for Adopted Dogs
Yung Gravy knows how to chase dough and get money—and he’s never gonna give it up to seedy breeders. Ahead of his upcoming performances at Warped Tour in Long Beach, Mr. Clean himself hits the blackjack table in a saucy new PETA campaign alongside his canine companion, Hendrix. In the striking PSA, the rapper urges everyone to double down on compassion and adopt, not shop.

In an accompanying video, the silky-smooth songwriter leans into his new role as an Audible narrator, soothing Hendrix to sleep with a bedtime story about a loveable shelter dog named Maverick. After waiting day in and day out for a chance at a loving home, Maverick begins to lose hope—but he finally gets his happy ending when he’s adopted by a kind boy named Cam.
The heartwarming story hits home for the duo, as Hendrix was abandoned in a dumpster as a puppy—but went “from the trash to the cash,” as Yung Gravy puts it, when the rapper adopted him.
Breeders? No Way Jose!
With millions of homeless dogs and cats in the U.S., animal shelters across the country are constantly overburdened. Some shelters with misguided “no-kill” policies are warehousing dogs for months or even years and turning away animals, leaving many in need with nowhere to go.

Homeless animals struggle to survive on the streets, where they’re at risk of getting hit by cars, being attacked by other animals or cruel humans, or contracting and spreading deadly diseases. Without adequate shelter, they suffer heat exhaustion in the summer and hypothermia when temperatures plummet in the winter. The lives of homeless animals are spent in fear, discomfort, and loneliness.
Breeders and pet stores churn out puppies and kittens amid the widespread animal companion overpopulation and homelessness crisis, fueling it even more. Every time someone buys an animal, there’s one fewer home for an animal waiting at a shelter.
Adoption? Yup!
It’s humans’ job to help curb the companion animal overpopulation and homelessness crisis—and just one of the ways you can do that is by being an adoption advocate like Yung Gravy.
“Please be a part of the solution. When you’re ready to add a dog to your family, always adopt.”—Yung Gravy
Additionally, always get your companion animal fixed. Spaying and neutering are routine, affordable surgeries that prevent thousands of animals from being born into a world that can’t support them. Plus, altered animals live longer, more comfortable lives.
