Black Friday, Who? Compassionate Consumers Choose “Free the Animals” Friday Instead

Rather than GIVING money to corporations that pollute the earth and support animal suffering this holiday season, join us in TAKING action for those who are killed for their skins.

Each year on the largest shopping day of the season, we demonstrate that fashion does not have to come at the cost of animal suffering at multiple “Free the Animals” Friday events nationwide.

These demonstrations call attention to the annual slaughter of more than a billion cows and other animals for their skin. With numerous durable, eco-friendly, and animal-free materials available on the market, there’s no reason for any store or designer to support animal cruelty.

Companies like Coach, HOKA, and Urban Outfitters know this, but continue to fund the abusive leather industry by selling items made from animal skin.

Take the actions below to urge retailers to reject the cruelty of the animal skin industry and embrace vegan materials.

1. Take action on our alert targeting Urban Outfitters. There is no reason—or excuse—for abusing animals for clothing. Please join us in calling on Urban Outfitters to commit to only animal-free fashion in all of its brands.

2. Comment on Coach’s social media accounts. Urge the company to stop profiting from the senseless slaughter of animals and use cruelty-free, eco-friendly vegan leathers instead.

3. Contact HOKA on social media and tell the sportswear company to tap into a well of compassionate consumers by using only vegan leather and eliminating animal skins from their products.

4. Comment on Urban Outfitters’ social media pages to remind the company that the face of fashion is fear. Urban Outfitters brands must change!

Finally, check out some of the 2025 “Free the Animals Friday” demonstrations!

Compassionate people from around the world joined protests to educate their communities about the cruelty sewn into each piece of clothing made from animal skins, and they made their message loud and clear.
