UPDATE: Victory for Neglected Turks and Caicos Horse

Update (August 25, 2023): The horse has been seized and is currently receiving veterinary care and rehabilitation. Thank you to all who spoke out in his behalf and to local authorities for rescuing him!

PETA has received a report of a severely emaciated horse who is reportedly in the custody of a tourist company based in Cockburn Town on Grand Turk Island. Allegedly, this animal has been observed being forced to work in 100-degree heat without being provided with adequate food or water.

PETA caseworkers immediately submitted the information to local authorities, requesting swift intervention—but 10 days have passed, and the horse apparently remains with the tourist company and has not yet been examined by a veterinarian!
