Acclaimed street artist Praxis is taking his talents to Sunset Boulevard, where he’ll create a pro-animal mural on the side of PETA’s Bob Barker Building in a three-day painting marathon. The original artwork will be part of PETA’s campaign challenging speciesism, the misguided human belief that other animals are inherently inferior to humans, despite their extraordinary capabilities.
When: Thursday, June 15–Saturday, June 17, starting at 12 noon
Where: Outside PETA’s Bob Barker Building, 2154 W. Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles
“This mural will be a larger-than-life reminder that billions of animals suffer and die every day in the experimentation, food, fashion, and entertainment industries,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA urges anyone who is moved by its message to take the first step toward animal liberation by going vegan today.”
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way” and which opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview—offers a free vegan starter kit on its website.
