‘Aliens’ to Feast on ‘Human Flesh’ in PETA Campaign to End Speciesism

Suppose extraterrestrials believed in speciesism—the idea that all other species are inferior to one’s own? Locals are about to find out what that might be like this Saturday, when PETA “aliens” beam downtown to dine on a “free-range, organic human.” The intergalactic “lunch-in” is part of PETA’s contribution to World Day for the End of Speciesism, urging everyone on this planet to go vegan.
When: Saturday, August 27, 12 noon
Where: At the intersection of S. Tryon and E. Trade streets, Charlotte
“If aliens visit, we’d all better hope they don’t cage us, kill us, and chop up our bodies the way humans do to other species,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA is asking everyone to make the galaxy a kinder place by keeping our fellow Earthlings off our plates.”
