‘Owl’ in Santa Hat to Deliver Coal to JHU President

Because Johns Hopkins University (JHU) still allows experimenter Shreesh Mysore to conduct painful, invasive brain experiments on owls—even after he was caught previously cutting into birds’ skulls without mandatory state permits—on Thursday, a PETA “owl” wearing a Santa hat will deliver a fitting Christmas gift to the home of JHU President Ronald Daniels: a wheelbarrow full of coal.
When: Thursday, December 16, 12 noon
Where: JHU, at the intersection of E. 34th and N. Charles streets, Baltimore, and proceeding to Nichols House
“Drilling holes into owls’ heads is an act so depraved, it makes Scrooge seem saintly,” says PETA Vice President Shalin Gala. “PETA urges President Daniels to shut down Shreesh Mysore’s owl experiments and give these majestic animals the gift of freedom from pain.”
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to experiment on”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview.
