Syringe-Wielding ‘Bob Baffert’ to Crash Induction Ceremony

On Friday, a PETA supporter dressed as Bob Baffert and carrying a large syringe will descend with his entourage on the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame induction ceremony to highlight PETA’s demand that Baffert—who has had at least 30 medication violations in his career and is facing the possible disqualification of Medina Spirit from this year’s Kentucky Derby—be removed from the racing Hall of Fame. PETA notes that American Pharoah, who is being inducted, was trained by Baffert and was struck with a whip more than 30 times during his Kentucky Derby win in 2015.
