Following appeals from PETA campaigners and pressure from its members and other activists upset about cruelty to animals used in clothing, luxury outerwear company Moose Knuckles has announced that it will go fur-free. Below, please find a statement from PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman:

The end of fur is nigh, as almost every retailer with any business sense, from Canada Goose to Neiman Marcus to Moose Knuckles, is ending the sale of scraps of tormented animals’ fur, realizing that no one with a heart will buy it anymore. This is a banner week for grassroots activists and PETA, which pushed all these brands to go fur-free, and can now see the death of the fur industry right around the corner.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to wear”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
