Gaffney, S.C.

Taking a swipe at its animal exhibitor’s history of violence and neglect, a “tiger” will accompany PETA supporters to the opening night of the controversial Loomis Bros. Circus this Friday, appealing to families not to attend and to support animal-free circuses instead.

When:      Friday, July 2, 6:30 p.m.

Where:    1524 Boiling Springs Hwy., Gaffney

“Wild animals don’t perform onstage because they want to but because they know they’ll suffer if they don’t obey,” says PETA Foundation Director of Captive Animal Law Enforcement Rachel Mathews. “PETA encourages parents everywhere to patronize only shows that celebrate human talent instead of using captive animals.”

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to use for entertainment”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
