2009 - Ad Agency Arnold Worldwide to Leave Great Apes Out of Ads


PETA met with executives at Arnold Worldwide--a powerful and respected advertising agency--to alert them about the abuse that great apes endure when they are used in the advertising industry. After learning about the cruelty, the executives pledged never to use great apes in any future advertising campaigns.

 


2009 - Skadaddle Media Pledges to Leave Great Apes Out of Ads

 

After PETA provided Skadaddle Media--an up-and-coming ad agency--with information about the abuse that is suffered by great apes who are forced into the entertainment industry, the agency immediately pledged never to use great apes in its advertising campaigns.

 


2009 - Levi Strauss & Co. Leaves Endangered Animals Out of Ads


After an incident in which a chimpanzee attacked a woman and left her with life-threatening injuries, PETA reached out to Levi Strauss & Co., which had featured an orangutan in a viral video in 2008. After learning about the abuse suffered by great apes and other exotic animals who are forced into the entertainment industry, Levi's prohibited the use of any endangered animals, including great apes, in the advertising and marketing of its products.


2009 - Johnson & Johnson Pledges to Leave Captive Animals Out of Ads


After an incident in which a chimpanzee named Travis attacked a woman and left her with life-threatening injuries, PETA reached out to leading pharmaceutical corporation Johnson & Johnson. After learning about the abuse that is suffered by exotic animals who are forced into the entertainment industry, Johnson & Johnson promised not to produce any ads featuring wild animals unless the animals are left undisturbed in their natural setting.


2009 - School District Calls 'Foul' on Donkey Basketball
PETA received complaints about a donkey basketball fundraiser scheduled for Chichester High School in Pennsylvania and jumped into action. After PETA and our members contacted school administrators about the harm caused to donkeys when students pull, yank, and shove them across slippery gym floors, administrators agreed to cancel the game.
