2009 - Ad Agency R&R Partners Pledges to Leave Great Apes Out of Ads
After meeting with PETA and learning about the cruelty inherent in the procurement, training, and disposal of great apes used for entertainment, advertising agency R&R Partners pledged never to use great apes in any future ad campaigns.
2009 - Ad Agency DraftFCB Pledges to Leave Great Apes Out of Ads

After PETA provided DraftFCB, one of the top 10 U.S. ad agencies, with information on how great apes suffer as a result of being used for advertising, the agency signed PETA's Great Ape Humane Pledge, agreeing never to use great apes in any future ad campaigns unless undisturbed in their natural habitat.

2009 - Samsung Pulls the Plug on Chimpanzee Ad
After receiving complaints about a Samsung ad that featured Ozzy Osbourne and a grinning chimpanzee playing the guitar, PETA contacted the telecommunications company. We told Samsung executives about the cruelty inherent in the procurement, training, and disposal of great apes used in advertising, and the company pulled the ad from rotation.
2009 - L.A. Jiffy Lubes Drop Ringling Bros. Promotion

When PETA discovered that Jiffy Lube of Greater Los Angeles was giving away discounted Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus tickets with the purchase of an oil change, we immediately contacted the president of the Southern California cooperative. PETA explained that Ringling denies animals everything that is natural and important to them and beats them in the most sensitive parts of their bodies with whips and sharp, metal-tipped bullhooks. As a result, Jiffy Lube of Greater Los Angeles decided to end its relationship with Ringling.

2009 - Bonobos Pulls Commercial That Exploits Chimpanzees
After receiving complaints about a Bonobos Inc. ad that featured a trained chimpanzee wearing swim trunks, PETA contacted the men's clothing and swimwear company. We told its CEO about the cruelty inherent in the procurement, training, and disposal of great apes and the negative effects that portraying chimpanzees as comical subhumans has on conservation. Bonobos pulled the ad and assured PETA that it will not feature great apes in any future ads.
