Breaking News: PETA Persuades BCBG to Ban Fur and Angora

It’s the dawn of a new, compassionate era at BCBG: The company has officially banned fur and angora!

Over the past several years, hundreds of thousands of PETA supporters have urged it to stop selling items made with the cruelly obtained materials. After learning about our appeal, executives of Marquee Brands, the BCBG brands’ new owner, let PETA know that fur and angora are now banned.

BCBGMAXAZRIA and BCBGeneration join hundreds of retailers and designers around the world—including Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren, Inditex, and H&M—that refuse to sell fur and angora. Earlier this month, Gucci announced that it will ditch fur beginning with its 2018 spring collection.

A sincere thank-you is in order for executives at Marquee Brands for ensuring that the BCBG brands will sell only contemporary, luxurious faux fur and angora. And, of course, thank you to everyone who helped us reach this victory. Progress is not possible without you!

Animals are not clothing. It’s that simple.

Never wear fur or angora, and speak out against companies that sell products made with animal-derived materials. Every fur coat, trinket, and bit of trim caused animals tremendous suffering—and death.

Some companies—such as Michael Kors—refuse to join the rest of us in the 21st century and continue to sell items made with animal fur. Stand with PETA today as we work toward a fur-free world.
