Washington, DC -- Blasting the unmistakable sound of passing gas and holding a sign that reads, "An 'Inconvenient Toot': Meat = Climate Change," PETA's outraged "cow" will protest outside a D.C. steak house at a busy intersection. A U.N. report determined that raising animals for food is the leading contributor to climate change. All animals burp and fart, releasing massive quantities of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.
When: Friday, October 22, 12 noon
Where: 601 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W. (at the intersection of Sixth Street N.W. and Pennsylvania Avenue N.W.), Washington, D.C.
"It's time for meat-eaters to mooove over if we want to save the planet," says PETA's Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "With hundreds of millions of cows passing gas on factory farms across the U.S. every year, we're asking people to 'pass' on the meat and dairy products at the dinner table."
