PETA Names ONEOK Field One of the Most Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks

Tulsa, Okla. -- ONEOK Field, home of the Tulsa Drillers, has grabbed fifth place in PETA's annual rankings of the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks in minor-league baseball. The park fields a stellar lineup that includes protein-packed veggie burgers and veggie dogs, taco salad, and dairy-free soft-serve ice cream. 

"The Drillers have really knocked one out of the park when it comes to offering delicious vegetarian options," says PETA Director Dan Shannon. "Loyal fans can enjoy delicious food and cheer on their favorite team while they safeguard their health, protect the Earth, and save animals' lives--all at the same time."

Grabbing first-place honors is a rookie to the list, the Hagerstown Suns' Municipal Stadium, which clinched the win with its offerings of veggie dogs and veggie burgers with vegan cheese. Rounding out the top 10 are PGE Park (Portland Beavers), Frontier Field (Rochester Red Wings), Durham Bulls Athletic Park (Durham Bulls), Victory Field (Indianapolis Indians), Cheney Stadium (Tacoma Rainiers), Isotopes Park (Albuquerque Isotopes), Regions Park (Birmingham Barons), and MerchantsAuto.com Stadium (New Hampshire Fisher Cats)

Top athletes across the sports spectrum--including Milwaukee Brewers slugger Prince Fielder, Olympic legend Carl Lewis, Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams, and mixed martial arts fighter Mac Danzig--have kicked the meat habit, and a trip to ballpark concession stands confirms that fans are getting the message too.
