Ottawa, ON -- In the wake of the House of Commons' expected passage of the conservative
Omnibus Budget Bill—which has garnered intense criticism for striking down
several of Canada's environmental protection laws—a dozen PETA members, wearing
nothing but blue and green bodypaint to represent the Earth, will gather on the
steps of Parliament Hill on Tuesday with signs that read, "You Can Save
the Planet! " and "Go Vegan!" to tell environmentally conscious
Canadians that they can still help the planet on an individual level simply by
choosing healthy, humane vegan meals.
