Norfolk, Va. -- Four national food companies have just been named winners of Libby Awards by peta2, PETA's youth division, for their outstanding vegan food products, which can be found in more and more grocery stores every year. The sixth annual Libby Awards ("Libby" is for "liberation") honor animal-friendly people and products. The winning products are as follows:
"All four of our winning companies prove that going vegan is the best thing you can do for your health, the environment, animals, and your taste buds," says peta2 Division Manager Marta Holmberg. "In fact, vegan foods have become so tasty in the past decade that when it comes to flavor, they often beat fat- and cholesterol-laden nonvegan foods at their own game."
For more information about the winners, please visit peta2.com/Libbys.
Winners were chosen by peta2 based on equal consideration of three factors: the number of votes received, the quality of the animal-friendly product or the nominees' enthusiasm for being animal-friendly, and feedback from the nominees' fans.
