Bonita Springs, Fla. -- After nearly 60,000 votes were cast in the final round alone, 28-year-old Bonita Springs resident Marie Breska beat out nine other finalists to be crowned the female winner of PETA's 2010 Sexiest Vegetarian Next Door contest. Marie and a friend won a seven night stay in beautiful Maui, courtesy of the PETA Member Advantage Program.

"Marie is living proof that going vegetarian is a great way to protect your health, boost your energy level, and ramp up your sex appeal," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "After all, what's sexier than someone who exudes passion and compassion?"

Nine years ago, Marie moved to Florida from her native Tel Aviv. Since 2003, she has supported herself as a gourmet personal chef, a job that combines her love of people and cooking. She enjoys counseling her clients on the health benefits of a vegetarian diet and inventing delicious and healthful veggie recipes.

Since going vegetarian 10 years ago, Marie has found that being vegetarian comes with its own rewards. Besides achieving a radiant complexion, she says that she feels lighter, healthier, and more nimble and that she has lots of energy for yoga, Pilates, and kickboxing. She also loves the fact that she is making a difference for animals and can enjoy her meals with a clear conscience!

But Marie's activism isn't limited to her plate. She helps raise money for her local humane society, and she once rescued a large, injured dog from the median of a busy road and managed to carry the dog back to her car and later reunite him with his grateful guardian. Marie's inspiration and role model--for her activism, appearance, and beliefs--is Pamela Anderson. Marie's turn-ons include animal lovers and compassionate individuals.
