New York - There's no doubt about it--actor and model Eva Mendes is one of Hollywood's sexiest and coolest leading ladies. The red carpet siren is courted by the world's most sought-after designers, but one thing she'll never do is let designers drape her in fur. In fact, she'd rather go naked. That's why Mendes jumped at the chance to star in a brand-new anti-fur ad for peta2--the world's largest youth animal rights organization. In the ad, Mendes bares all next to the tagline "Fur? I'd Rather Go Naked." Visitors to peta2.com can see the ad and read an exclusive interview with Mendes and can also enter to win an iPod Touch and a DVD of Mendes' film Hitch.

"There are way too many amazing faux-fur options out there for people to still be wearing real fur," says Mendes. "I want people to know that ... killing a poor animal and wearing [her fur] isn't cool. Respecting all life forms is cool."

A Cuban-American who was born in Florida and grew up in Los Angeles, Mendes has appeared in dozens of films, including We Own the Night with PETA pal Joaquin Phoenix, Training Day with Denzel Washington, Ghost Rider with Nicolas Cage, and Hitch with Will Smith. The Latina beauty has served as a spokesmodel for Revlon.

Mendes joins an ever-growing list of actors and musicians--including Charlize Theron, Meg & Dia, Pink, Tegan & Sara, Aimee Teegarden, Jared Padalecki, Mates of State, and Tommy Lee--who have teamed up with peta2 to expose the cruelty inherent in the fur industry. Also featured on peta2.com are celebrity interviews, message boards, merchandise, downloadable voice-mail recordings, and chances to win great prizes like free concert tickets, iPods, and more.
