Dallas - Accompanied by an activist wearing a rabbit costume and holding signs that read, "Armani Butchers Bunnies," members of PETA and Animal Connection of Texas (ACT) will protest Giorgio Armani's use of rabbit fur outside Neiman Marcus' flagship Dallas store on Friday, where Armani will personally preside over his runway show at the Crystal Charity Ball luncheon.
Why are PETA and ACT hopping mad about Armani's use of rabbit fur? Rabbits raised and killed for fur are kept in tiny, filthy cages and spend their entire miserable lives standing on the thin wires of their cages. In order to kill rabbits, fur farmers break the animals' necks or smash their skulls before stringing them up by their legs, cutting off their heads, and skinning them.
Many top fashion designers--including Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger--are 100 percent fur-free.
Date: Friday, September 7
Time: 10 a.m.
Place: Outside Neiman Marcus, 1618 Main St.
