Apple Cider Gravy

4 cups vegetable broth
1 Tbsp. margarine
2 cups apple cider
1/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp. dried sage
Salt and pepper, to taste


• In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the broth and margarine to a boil. Add the cider and reduce the heat to low, simmering until reduced by half.
• In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and a 1/2 cup of the broth mixture. Whisk into the saucepan. Raise the heat and simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened, approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
• Stir in the sage, salt, and pepper.

Makes 6 to 8 servings
