Animal Times is a full-color magazine published quarterly by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) that features heartwarming rescue stories, hard-hitting investigative reports, celebrity news, fun and challenging quizzes, and informative advice columns like "Doctor in the House" and "Ask Carla."

Since its inception in 1994, Animal Times' main purpose has been twofold: to be an educational and motivational tool and to share news of PETA's campaigns and victories with our members so that they can see how their donations are being used to help animals. Not only does Animal Times provide readers with valuable information about factory farming, the clothing industry, experimentation, and other animal issues, its hands-on "You Can Help" sections also show them exactly what they can do to help. Readers are encouraged to vote for animals every time they pull out their wallets—by buying vegetarian foods, nonleather clothing, cruelty-free cosmetics, and other animal-friendly products.

In addition to PETA members, Animal Times is sent to schools, libraries, animal shelters, and members of the media and the U.S. Congress. Subscriptions are available through PETA and Amazon.com.

PETA's Mission Statement

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organization in the world. Founded in 1980, PETA is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals. PETA operates under the simple principle that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment.

PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the skins trade, and in the entertainment industry. We also work on a variety of other issues, including the cruel killing of beavers, birds, and other "pests," and the abuse and neglect of backyard dogs.

PETA works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and direct action.
